Travel Guide Elliot

Elliot, with a few hundred residents, is halfway between Darwin and Alice Springs, and 100km from the nearest gas station in Dunmarra to the north, and 130km from Renner Springs. Elliot contains sites important to the Jingili people. Gasoline, a small supermarket and camping with or without electricity are available. Elliot may soon be transformed, with the planned construction of the world's largest solar panel field, Sun Cable, which would produce power to be sent to Singapore. Nearby is the ghost town of Newcastle Waters, which was planned for a time (in 1926!) to be transformed into the capital of the NT
