Explore Lysefjord and Gøysa Gard is run by 3 local families who all live close to Gøysa Gard.

Our goal is to give as many people as possible the opportunity to experience the beautiful Norwegian nature and cultural heritage that surrounds us.

We do our utmost to make our guests feel welcome and to ensure that you get the most out of your visit to our beautiful region.

Explore Lysefjorden was started in 2017 as an activity provider, with the aim of bringing together all the activities and adventures in the region in one place. The web pages were also launched the same year with several partnerships to offer visitors a variety of activities.

In the first two years, it was evident that our services were appreciated and that visitors to the region found it useful to find the most popular activities in one place.

Good feedback and dialogue with our customers revealed that many visitors returned to Stavanger after hiking or visiting Lysefjorden. This was often due to the lack of places to stay for the night, or even for weeks, while exploring the area.

That's why we got together in 2019 and agreed to buy the beautiful little farm Gøysa Gard. As locals, with a good knowledge of the area and this farm, we all knew that this would be a great opportunity for us to create new and exciting adventures, and a place where visitors could come and spend their vacations.

Our plan for Explore Lysefjorden and Gøysa Gard, is to make sure that you will find comfortable and authentic accommodations where you can stay for shorter or longer periods of time while exploring all that this area has to offer. We will also welcome other groups for courses, events and other gatherings.

Gøysa Gard is a certified Eco-Lighthouse (Miljøfyrtårn), which means that we focus on sustainable tourism and leaving as small an environmental footprint as possible in nature. We also hope that our guests feel the same way and help us to do our part.

We all enjoy meeting new people and getting to know our guests. If you stay at Gøysa Gard, you will probably see us making sure that everything is fine.
