ЗАПОВЕДНИК КРОНОЦКИЙ. Kamchakta is one of the most remarkable volcanic territories in the world, with its exceptional concentration of active volcanoes, geysers, hot springs, mud lakes, all nestled in a landscape of landforms and glaciers of almost extraterrestrial beauty. The Kronotski Biosphere Nature Reserve, recognized by UNESCO in 1984, covers an area of almost 11,000 km2. It protects exceptional natural sites, the famous Valley of the Geysers, the caldera of the Ozon volcano, the Valley of Death (because of its deadly gases), lagoons or the Klioutchevskoï, the highest active fire-breathing stratovolcano in Eurasia (4,835 m). Fire on ice, so to speak!
