For over 15 years, the Te mana o te moana association has been working to safeguard the Polynesian marine world, and in particular sea turtles, through its discovery, education and protection activities. The association's Sea Turtle Rehabilitation Center takes in sick and injured turtles for treatment and release back into the wild. The resident turtles can be freely observed swimming in the outdoor pools. Guided tours are free and last one hour.

Visite très intéressante où l'on vous expliquera tout sur les tortues, la sauvegarde, le soin aux tortues blessées etc

Un superbe boulot de sensibilisation à la préservation des tortues marines... une vraie nécessité car la tortue reste un met d'exception en polynésie. Mais les choses progressent. Une visite vaut le détour pour comprendre cet animal et son rapport aux polynésiens.
L'activité est toutefois financée par l'enfermement de dauphins... un mal pour un bien dirons nous...
