Spinali Design is an Alsatian start-up created by Romain Spinali. In partnership with the INSERM in Strasbourg (Institut national de la santé et de la recherche médicale, Unité biomatériaux et bio-ingénierie), they have created a connected dressing that, once placed on the skin, can detect infections. Its principle is to send information and alerts to an application on a smartphone using a chip contained in the dressing. The advantage is to be able to continuously monitor the healing of a wound in order to warn the nursing staff or patient of a potential onset of infection. It will be necessary to wait until the end of 2019 for the technology to be on the market.
