The only museum in Austria dedicated to a saint. St. Notburga (1265-1313) was known for her ability to care for the sick and poor. The museum exhibits documents, artworks and other objects that tell the story of this saint who is venerated as the patron saint of maids and farmers. According to legend, Notburga was employed as a servant in Rottenburg Castle and, with the tolerance of her employers, distributed the leftovers of the food cooked in the castle to the needy.
