KURAR HOUSE

Renovated in 2007, Kurar House is not one of the largest houses managed by the cultural center. But it has a certain charm, with its interior garden and the elegance of its lines. The house is dedicated to the traditional art of Kurar. The embroiderers weave geometric patterns with gold and silver thread on the ceremonial abayas. It takes at least three women, who stretch the threads, and a fourth, who sews as the ball unravels. It takes years of learning to master this ancient technique.
