CHURCH OF THE INTERCESSION OF THE VIRGIN

The Church of Our Lady's Intercession was founded by Father Pavel (Mitchurin) at the beginning of the 20th century and consecrated in 1907 by Bishop Nikolsk-Oussursky. Tsarevich Nicholas visited her during his trip to the Far East. A chapel housing the icon of Saint Nicholas of Myre was erected in his honour. With the arrival of the Bolsheviks in power, the chapel was destroyed and the church was transformed into a pioneer house and then into a warehouse. It was returned to the faithful in 1946.
