Playa de Muerto (Dead Man's Beach) is a village on the Pacific coast, accessible from Garachiné when the weather permits (dangerous). The more intrepid will embark on a week-long half-crossing of the Darién from La Palma, or two long days from Sambú. These treks through the forest, with a guide only, are very demanding, but the arrival on the grey sandy beach at the end of the jungle, is an indescribable spectacle.
