It is 22 km from Roboré and 450 km from Santa Cruz. It has about 1,000 inhabitants. The Jesuit mission of Santiago de Chiquitos, founded in 1754, has the oldest bells in Chiquitania. If it is not worth the detour by itself, several walks are possible in the surroundings of the city. In addition to the Tucava Valley, one can bathe in the balnearios of the Río Aguas Calientes, follow the circuit of Los Arcos y Cuevas allowing to admire interesting geological formations, caves and cave paintings during a one-day trek, or admire the spectacle of the cachuelas located a little more than a kilometer from the village
