Avnei Eitan was founded in 1973 in memory of 6 fighters killed in the fighting of the Yom Kippur War. This Orthodox moshav today houses the Mechinat Avnei Eitan, a campus that hosts students from various English-speaking countries, combining the classical learning of a Yeshiva with the preparation for service in the Israel defense forces. The Mechina of Avnei Eitan, the first of its kind for Anglophones, was founded in 2004. Nearby, the waterfalls of Black Waterfall and White Waterfall in the Nahal Elal Reserve are well known.
