At the exit of Luba is Batete. It is a small village that once sheltered the house of the Spanish rich José Vidal Ribas, industrialist and owner of a slave boat, and was confiscated by the British Navy in 1856. The church of San Antonio Maria Claret is also worth the detour, because built in 1887 and entirely wooden.
