EASTERN BRIDGE - BISLIM BAJGORA

This modern bridge (Istočni most, Ura e Bislim Bajgorës) spans the Ibar River and provides a car or foot connection between the two parts of the city without being the object of particular tension. It is this bridge, and not the Ibar bridge, that is most used by the inhabitants. On the south side, the bridge is named after Bislim Kadri Bajgora (1900-1947), an Albanian nationalist, Nazi collaborator and Gestapo officer who is considered a "hero" by most of the Albanians of Mitrovica.
