PÉLERINAGE DE LA VIERGE NOIRE

The pilgrimage of the Black Madonna of Letnicë (Letnica) celebrates the Assumption of the Virgin on August 15. It attracts every year a crowd of believers from all over Kosovo but also from neighboring countries. The village is located on the northern slopes of Skopska Crna Gora, the "black mountain". It would be during one of these pilgrimages that in 1927, Agnes Gonxha Bojaxhiu, better known as Mother Teresa, decided to enter the orders.
