Guarded by KFOR, this Serbian Orthodox church (Kisha e Shën Marisë, Црква Успење Пресвете Богородице/Crkva Uspenja Presvete Bogorodice) was built in 1859. A wall shows the date 1909, but this is the year of its renovation with the addition of the bell tower-porch. It is the heart of the Serbian and Roma quarter of the city. Inside, there are some valuable icons and a beautifully crafted wooden iconostasis. Graves are scattered in the adjoining garden, enclosed by a high wall.
