The village has a small cemetery, which you can visit with village notables who will tell you their side of the story.
This village owes its name to the rocky outcrop (the rock) surrounding the bay on which it lies. In a small cemetery overlooking the ocean is the grave of a certain Gro Yeba, the presumed grandfather of the illustrious Kwame Nkrumah. To visit and have this amazing local heritage explained to you, ask the village elders who will tell you their version of the story. Sensitive souls: the welcome in Kroumen country is made with kola nut and chili powder (sprinkled with coconut water).
