Located around 100 km south-west of Butembo and 250 km north-west of Goma, the Tayna Gorilla Reserve covers just over 90,000 hectares and aims to protect lowland gorillas and local populations in these regions. Accessible from the Kasugho site, 45 kilometers from the Goma-Butembo road, it is located between the Maiko Park, the Virunga Park and the Kahuzi-Biega Park.
