128 kilometers east of Mbandaka, the small town of Bikoro is reached after a journey of at least 3 hours on a laterite track. The tones oscillate between the bright red of the track, the emerald green of the surrounding forest and the dense black of these rivers, which are so pure. The road is interspersed with numerous villages, some of which are inhabited by Ekonda pygmies, with huts with walls decorated with naive frescoes and incantatory slogans. Facing the Tumba lake, this is the entrance to Bikoro. On the right, the market. On the left, the imposing cathedral and the major seminary of 1926, as well as the territorial administration building.
