TAULABÉ CUEVAS
This cave is one of the wonders of Honduras. It was discovered by accident in 1969 when the road between San Pedro and Tegucigalpa was puncture. Tradition reports that in 1972, a modern North American pirate (William Hanneman) flew $ 250 000, parachuta over La Ceiba and fila hiding in the cave for a while. Some say that his treasure is still buried there. Approximately 300 metres have been arranged (railings, pleasant lights), 921 have been mapped but the cavity is at least 12 kilometres (distance known today). The cave still continues, but the lack of oxygen and heat requires a modern equipment that no one has. also do not know how far she leads - some say to the ruins of Copán, others to the lake, others still to Santa Bárbara. If you are equipped, it is not at all impossible to continue the adventure ("extreme", we say here). There are interesting rock formations, some of which invariably evoke wings, hats or bibs. Warn people with claustrophobia, heart disease, asthma or tension. For others, it will be a beautiful découverte discovery. A guide will accompany you on 300 metres to 100 metres underground. A cave to discover in less than an hour!
