Pozo Azul has become a huge, very complete ecotourism complex where the watchword is respect for nature: recycling, energy production, use of bio fertilizers, organic crops… There are many possibilities for excursions, adventures and activities beyond simple accommodation. Class 2, 3 and 4 rafting for the most experienced, canopy tour along a route of 12 cables, the last of which flies over the river Sarapiqui, and 17 platforms, trekking and horse raids from 2 hours to several days, recall and free fall, mountain biking, walking in the forest, hiking, papillons, etc. This entertainment part is just before the bridge. As far as housing is concerned, there are two accommodation options available to you. The Cuculmeca tent lodge is located on a hill 200 m from the Sarapiqui, after the same bridge. A 4 x 4 is warmly recommended to go there; It has 25 comfortable tents with 4 single beds, mounted on wooden terraces, with electricity, shared bath, terrace furnished with hammocks. A perfect way to play adventurers in comfort. Sleeping in the sounds of the forest is an experience that we particularly recommend you. More traditional, the Magsasay Lodge is located at the entrance of Braulio Carrillo National Park, approximately 10 km from the base camp. It has 10 rooms with a very nice rustic style, different capacities, fuelled by solar energy, with shared bathroom. The restaurant serves a varied cuisine that makes the most of local resources (meat, vegetables and fruit). Pozo Azul also organises a day discovery with activities and meals from San José.
