REAL COSTA RICA INTERCONTINENTAL

Maybe we had bad luck but everything went wrong. Valet was non existent, crib took 1.5 hours, dirty bed, broken lamps and stands, front desk non responsive, and that was just the first night.

4 Star hotel masquerading as a 5 star. My main reason for my rating is the valet. I come out in the morning at 5 am to catch a flight. No one was present. I go inside to tell the front desk we are waiting on multiple occasions and finally someone comes out from the dining area of the main restaurant. I present my Amex Biz Platinum card and the gentleman that came out tells me that this is only for Costa Ricans. I informed him that I spoke with the front desk staff the night before and this was not the case. He then tells me that he needs to "go get the machine". Now having waited for 10 minutes already, I told him we will just pay as Intercontinental had already wasted enough time and I had no confidence that they would even return. Of course, no change was available from the valet person so overall I was overcharged. This hotel definitely has hired the "B Team" to work here and it is pretty apparent once you start to attempt to use any services on the property. Pretty much a similar B Team experience with the restaurants as well. The room was fine and updated, but the 4 inch thick down comforter is a bit unnecessary. Prepare to be disappointed if you are familiar with real 5 star hotel services.

Good location, food and service are not as good as before

Service déplorable.  Pas de gel douche en chambre,  malgré 3 appels ou l'on me promet de me les apporter,  rien ! ... J'ai du me déplacer voir les femmes de chambre,  moi même,  pour leur demander.
La climatisation est très faible dans la chambre,  difficile de dormir avec la chaleur.

Toothbrush in the bathroom basin, cockroach drinking for my Coca Cola leftover . Pringles chips on the sofa. Not well cleaned. $493.00 for one night : excessive. 3 weeks later I sked for my invoice becasue I did not get via email and they told me there was no record of my stay. Sounds very weird as in tax evasion.
