The Bidar fort is a magnificent example of the Persian influence on the city's architecture, as is the Mahmud Gawan Madrasa. Other monuments include the Rangeen Mahal, an ancient palace famous for its mosaics; the Bahmani mausoleums; the Fateh Darwaza, the emblematic gateway to the old city; Baheer Shahi Park; and Guru Nanak Jhira Sahib, a sacred Sikh site. Few trains serve Bidar, but the bus station is located in the north of the city, 1 km from the fort, next to Memorial Park.
