Discovered in 1935 by the Johnsen archaeologist, the site accommodates more than 3 stelas over 8 ha, the most impressive of which reach m high. In the middle of those still standing, a multitude of others lie, broken or buried, scattered in the middle of the cultures and up to the houses. Currently considered as the megalithic site of the largest number of stelas in Ethiopia, Tututi could be, according to the studies of French professor Anfray, the most important site of this kind in the world. Here all the stelas are identical in their phallic shape stressed by a horizontal gorge at the drawn end of the drum.Several other sites, including Gollecha 55 km south of Dila, have similar stelas. If it is understood that these monuments are historic, their origin remains mysterious. As populations in these territories have no oral tradition regarding such funeral stelas, it would appear that they were built by two distinct civilizations between the th and th centuries, unrelated to the current occupants. It is known that some oromo tribes continue to erect funeral monoliths around the graves or at a certain distance, but it appears that, as in the case of Waga Des, these monuments are reserved for some of the reckless individuals, heroes or hunters, and rather the phenomenon of acculturation. The other archaeological richness of the gedeo region lies in the gravées rocks of Odola Galma, Soka Dibicha and Adhi Kinjo. According to professors Anfray and Joussaume, specialists in these sites, these representations of bovine animals clearly identifiable with their horns, could go back to 4 000 years and give an indication of companies that have undertaken the domestication of livestock. These sites, a few kilometres away from each other on the banks of the Anshi Macho River, contain about fifteen blocks engraved.
