On a mountainous road heading west, Batukandik is another village of interest for its temple (containing some very old wood carvings). A waterfall is at the end of the road southwest of the village. From Batukandik, the road climbs northwards here passing the large village of Batumadeg 5 kilometres away, then over the top of the island the Bukit Mundi (529 metres), before joining the central road running east-west. Take the road to the left until you reach Sakti (12 km). At Sakti, you can either continue westwards to the beautiful white sandy Crystal Beach or take the northern road up to Toyapakeh (10 km).
