Leaving Er-Rachidia towards Midelt, the road skirts the sinuous shores of the Hassan Addakhil dam, which bears the name of the first Alaouite to arrive in the Tafilalet in 1266. The foothills of the Atlas mountains, with their flamboyant red colour, plunge into the emerald green water. You arrive then at the village of Ifri where stands a kasbah of any beauty before passing under the tunnel Foum Zaabel, former tunnel of the Legionnaire. The walls of the valley are then tightened, giving the impression that they have been shaped by a master hand. The contrast between the aridity of the mountain slopes and the banks of the Ziz is exceptional.
