The winding road from Bogor to Bandung passes through the Puncak Pass (1,500 m), between tea plantations. Temperatures here become cool, and the sky misty. From Ciawi, near Bogor (just after the end of the highway), to Cipanas, villas, hotels and restaurants of the resorts of Cibogo, Cipayung, Tugu and Cisarua follow one another. The region, very popular with Jakartans on weekends (watch out for the monstrous, exhausting traffic jams), offers lovely walks and a milder climate than that of the capital.
