JAMBAY LHAKHANG DRUP

Perched 2,800 metres above sea level in the heart of Bhumthang, Jambay Lhakhang is one of the oldest monasteries in the country: it was founded in the 7th century. Every year, it hosts a very important festival lasting five days. On this occasion, all the inhabitants wear their best traditional clothes and come to admire the monks who chase the demons from the Himalayas. Not to be missed: the dance of the naked monks, with precise movements to dazzle the audience, and the fire ritual, which is very impressive.
