BIG GOLDEN GUITAR & WAX MUSEUM & GUITAR MUSEUM
Museum featuring a collection of guitars once owned by Australian and international stars (Brooks & Dunn...)
Access to the museums is through the Visitor Center.
The Big Golden Guitar. The Big Golden Guitar is a replica of the award given to the winner of the annual Country Music Awards of Australia (CMMA) at the Country Music Festival. It is 12 meters high and was designed in 1988 to honor Slim Dusty, one of Australia's greatest country singers. At the foot of the Golden Guitar, the Big Golden Tourist Centre is above all a CD and DVD store, but also a souvenir shop, most of which includes the hits of the great winners of the Festival.
Wax Museum. Founded in 1983, this museum moved to its current location in 1988 to be opened by the great Slim Dusty himself. The museum features life-like look-alikes of some of Australia's most influential country music personalities. You will discover (or recognize) Smoky Dawson, Jimmy Little, Chad Morgan, Beccy Cole and many others in this great family attraction. All of them are of course presented in their best clothes and ready for a selfie with you.
National Guitar Museum. With a special focus on rock and country music, the collection is composed of guitars (original or replicas) that have mostly belonged to Australian and/or international stars: Smoky Dawson, Brian May (Queen), Tommy Emmanuel, Paul Stanley (Kiss), Keith Urban, Dolly Parton, Brooks & Dunn, Kenny Rogers, The Eagles... and many more.
