Travel Guide Yampupata

Small village about 18 km north of Copacabana that can be reached by hiking or biking trails. The pleasant part of the excursion starts at the Fatima cave (gruta de Fatima or Lourdes) near the Rio Jinchaca. From there it takes about 5-6 hours to reach Yampupata (a minibus to the cave costs about 5 Bs). On the way, you can visit the village of Titicachi, the Inca cemetery of Tiwanakuta, the floating islands and the traditional village of Sicuani where you can camp. In Yampupata, you can rent rooms in the houses of the locals or take a boat to reach the south of the sun island.
