JAVIERADAS

Every year, this pilgrimage brings together thousands of participants who come to pay homage to Saint Francis Xavier, co-founder of the Society of Jesus, born in 1506 in Javier. Since the 17th century, he has also been the co-patron of Navarre with San Fermín. Starting from Pamplona, this route of more than 50 kilometres takes both pilgrims and sportsmen and women to Javier's Castle. Organised in two stages (over two consecutive weekends in March), it is estimated that the pilgrimage brings together almost 40,000 participants every year!
