The Licancabur volcano is located above the Laguna Verde, like a sentinel guarding the Bolivian-Chilean border

Above the Laguna Verde stands the Licancabur volcano (5,920 m), like a sentinel guarding the Bolivian-Chilean border, in the extreme southwest of Bolivia. It is flanked by the Juriques volcano (5 704 m). Some lucky people will be able to attack the Licancabur with good shoes and strong lungs. From the top of this mountain which separates the two countries, a fantastic panorama unfolds. The ascent lasts one day with a night in camp and requires a very good physical condition and a strong resistance to the elements.
