FESTIVAL DE LA PLJESKAVICA

The meats cooked on the grill(roštilj), make the reputation of Leskovac. It therefore organizes a big festival every year between the end of August and mid-September for a week that attracts crowds (about 500 000 visitors). Lovers of grilled meat will not be disappointed: the atmosphere is very festive, restaurants are improvised everywhere in the middle of the streets. All the energy is turned to the contest of the biggest pljeskavica, the Serbian hamburger and national dish. Free concerts follow one another with fireworks in the evening.
