The natural border between Kashka Daria and Surkhan Daria is made of high mountains. This southern route was used by the great invaders of the region (Alexander the Great, Genghis Khan, Tamerlane, the Soviets). Djakurgan will delight those who love authentic bazaars and want to stock up on spices. Vendors of all kinds crowd around the main street, before going to refresh themselves in the nearby chaikhanas, along the canal. To the south, a 12th century minaret is the other major tourist attraction of the village and to the north, the Alexander Bridge can be a stop on the way to Denau.
