This small town comes alive with pilgrimages to the nearby mausoleum of Al-Buhari. One stops here to visit the architectural complex housing the tomb of the man who is still considered one of the greatest Sunni scholars and one of the most respected in the Muslim world, having collected hundreds of hadith, the sayings of the Prophet, during his lifetime. His mausoleum is the object of the most fervent pilgrimages in the country and was completely renovated, at the turn of the 2010s, by the late President Islam Karimov. It is particularly interesting to go there during the periods of pilgrimage, especially around Navrouz, the Eastern New Year.
