You can't leave Manihi without visiting pearl. Most are closed at the weeek-end. You can contact them directly, or see with your pension.

In the small structures, the visit is generally well commented, and you may be given a demonstration of the grafting technique. The reception is generally warm and the visit is free, but a small purchase would be a guarantee of your recognition. A big purchase is also very interesting, prices being much lower than Papeete, but choose your Pearls!

beaucoup de fermes perlières ont fermé à Manihi...
on m'en a proposé quelques unes dans une pension, mais le choix était limité (voir photo)
Pour la démonstration et pour le rapport qualité/prix j'ai préféré Gaugin's perles à Rangirora !
Pour acheter des petits souvenirs pas chers, allez au premier étage du marché de Papetee !
