Patio is in a way the main village of Tahaa. Bank, post office, doctors, police station, stores; all services are available here, and even a pearl farm. The horizon is punctuated by a crown of motus that dot the reef and delimit the northern side of the lagoon: in the distance, Bora Bora calls you. A traditional pebble fishing is organized there every year at the end of October. Finally, a smart tip for hikers: the classic Tahaa hike starts at Patio and arrives at Haamene after a 2.5-hour walk across the island. Before going on this hike, make arrangements with your hostel to have someone pick you up!
