Maharepa is a small and lively village with many shops, supermarkets, banks, pearl stores, restaurants, excursionists and a few luxury hotels including the Manava Beach Resort. Everything is there! However, the points of interest are limited. One can appreciate Mount Te'a-ra'i dominating the village from the top of its 770 m, or the old temple of the Maohi Protestant church of Maharepa, which seems decrepit today compared to those that one could admire in Haapiti, Papetoai or Paopao. Of very classical architecture with large masonry walls pierced by narrow windows with simple colored glass, it was erected between 1943 and 1951.
