The "Great Bulgarian" is an ancient city located 140 km from the city. Its ruins are located on the left bank of the Volga River. This city was the cultural, political and economic centre of the Bulgarians of the Volga. One can still visit there the ruins of this city of the IXth and Xth centuries: mosque, mausoleums, tomb of the khans. Today, these Muslim holy places are a place of pilgrimage to the land of the Tatar ancestors.
