Trois-Palétuviers is an Amerindian village. Equidistant from Saint-Georges and the mouth of the Oyapock River, the population, composed of about 50 people at the last census, is declining in favour of Saint-Georges, where many of the town's inhabitants come in search of more comfortable living conditions. The village is largely powered by solar electricity and obtains running drinking water from a well equipped with a wind turbine. A stopover to meet its inhabitants can be planned when passing nearby, when going up or down by pirogue along the Oyapoque river
