The small island of Mataking is a marine gem with fine sandy beaches and translucent waters. Great dives can be organized here, especially at the luxurious Mataking Island resort, the only hotel on the island. Packages range from 2 days/1 night to 5 days/4 nights, or even more if you fall in love with the tranquil surroundings. As elsewhere on Sipadan, a minimum number of nights is required to obtain a diving permit in the marine park. The island and resort are exactly what you'd expect from a tropical paradise. Accessible in 45 min by speedboat from Semporna, the transfer is organized by your hotel.
