OBSERVATION OF PROBOSCIS MONKEYS

Brunei's mangrove swamps are home to proboscis monkeys. They are easy to spot from Bandar Seri Begawan. The best time to catch a glimpse is early morning or late afternoon, shortly before sunset. You'll make your way up the Damuan and Brunei rivers between curtains of nipah, the tall palm fronds used to cover roofs. Along the way, you're likely to come across fishermen, birds, proboscis and crocodiles, if you're lucky.
