A historical site of the Chaco War, located 25 km from Loma Plata. The fort was built in January 1927 (at the same time as the arrival of the Mennonites), on a slight rise bordering the lagoon of Isla Po'i. During the war, it was the main supply point for the Paraguayan troops, and it was from here that the tanker trucks left to supply water to the soldiers fighting to recover Boquerón, 43 km away. The fort was also the third command post of Marshal José Felix Estigarribia. The facilities (monument to the Marshal, the command post barracks, the hospital...) were restored in 2013. Few explanations on the spot, if you don't come via a guided tour.
