Vallemí is located 14 km south of the confluence of the Paraguay and Apá rivers. The town has developed around its many limestone quarries, which are used for the production of cement. The presence of caves in the surrounding area will interest the caving enthusiast. Beautiful stalactites and stalagmites can be seen in unusual landscapes. Guides offer excursions to these natural cavities. The most popular are those of Kambá Hópo, Tres Cerros, Santa Caverna and Calera Risso. Vallemí has some posadas turísticas, but not really a correct hotel. You can get to Vallemí by military plane (SETAM), by bus or car (asphalt road), or on board the Aquidabán.
