PLAZA DE ARMAS

The main living place in the city centre, in front of which stands the Orthodox Cathedral of San Jorge. You come here in the afternoon to drink your tereré in the shade of the tall trees (including a Curupáy more than two centuries old) and in the evening to enjoy an ice cream. The square is made up of small thematic squares, with memorials to the immigrant communities that participated in the development of the region (Germans, Italians, Ukrainians, Japanese). Sometimes folk dances on Saturday night on the central esplanade.
