MUSEO Y MAUSOLEO GENERAL ELIZARDO AQUINO

The mausoleum, located in the middle of Piazza Aquino, houses a small museum dedicated to General Elizardo Aquino, born near Luque and hero of the Great War. Aquino, founder of the Sapper Corps, worked on the construction of the Humaitá fortifications, participated in the Riachuelo campaign and distinguished himself in the battle of Boquerón. The structure of the museum, rather ugly, is a succession of seven rings, each symbolizing a glorious gesture of the general.
