PARROT FOREST

Located in Mpanya Mutombo in Sankuru district. Thousands of birds can be seen here, with some luck the famous red-tailed Parrot parrot Psittacus Erithacus. Despite its protection and strict regulation of its capture, it is being heavily poaching to fuel illegal trade in many provinces across the country. It is found in the dense forests of Bandundu, Bas-Congo, Ecuador, Orientale Province, Maniema and the two Kasaï.
