Matilla is located below Pica, at an altitude of 1,160 metres. Its main interest lies in the church of San Antonio. Destroyed by earthquakes, it was rebuilt in 1887. Restored in 1981, it was again destroyed by the terrible earthquake of June 13, 2005 (7.9 on the Richter scale). Fortunately, it was rebuilt again and the new church was inaugurated in 2007. The Matilla wine press, now a museum, was built in the 17th century to make wine. The wine-making installations are still very well preserved, such as the monumental press, the grain containers and the fermentation tanks.
