SAKTHAN THAMPURAN PALACE

Built in 1795 by Rama Varma Sakthan Thampuran who ruled the kingdom of Kochi at the time, the palace was previously named Vadakkekara Palace. Today, it houses a museum that is especially worthwhile for its imposing Dutch-style building. It is a two-story building with thick walls and spacious rooms with beautiful marble floors. One can admire ancient bronze statues, sculptures, as well as a numismatic collection whose oldest coins date from the^5th century BC. An interesting visit.
