Colorful parades of lavishly dressed elephants, musicians and dancers for this famous Kerala festival.

The most famous gathering in Kerala takes place around the Vadakkumnatha temple in the center of Thrissur. For three days, thousands of people flock to watch the procession of carapaced elephants, musicians and dancers. The multicolored umbrellas used for the elephants are of the most beautiful effect. Traditional music gives rhythm to the festivities. A gigantic parade of elephants closes the celebrations. For your safety, stay away from the elephants and the crowd. One of the most beautiful festivals in Kerala.
