Travel Guide Južni Izvor (Јужни Извор)

This hamlet is one of the oldest villages in Serbia. Most of the houses are still made of wood and cob, often still in good condition. The impression that time stopped two centuries ago in this small valley is striking. Južni Izvor is still inhabited by a few old people, but it is about to die, and with it these houses from another time. 3 km after Južni Izvor, the road joins the road to Pirot; continue across to Kalna. In Kalna, another village that is fading into oblivion, turn right at the exit to Babin Zub. The climb to Crni Vrh peak starts here and lasts 29 km. Always follow the direction of Babin Zub, on a redone road.
